Thank you all for an amazing end to 2016! To kick off the new year, we're announcing new bases. They are anodized with a satin black finish, and come with out new machined kingpins and boardside bushing pins. Both parts are designed to provide exceptional strength, and they're fabricated from precipitate hardened 17-4 stainless to boot.

Should have these available to purchase starting the second week in January.

New Pivots

The pivots that shipped with the first batch of trucks were admittedly very tight. In fact, the amount of interference between the parts was causing the urethane to squeeze out a little too far and made assembly a real pain until the pivots broke in.
We heard that loud and clear.
Brad Miller (RipTide Sports) and I redesigned and remade the pivots, this time with less interference. All trucks going out the door now come with these installed. If you have the old style pivots and want an upgrade, these are in the shop now.

The best things in life are worth waiting for.

It's been a couple weeks since the pre-orders shipped out and the feedback has been steadily flowing in. The verdict? These trucks deliver. Riders are blown away by the endless lean and responsive ride that is complemented by a rock-solid center and increased control in drifts. I couldn't be any more stoked on how these trucks came out and it sounds like I'm not alone!

Also, be on the lookout for Voxter at your favorite shops. We've already started shipping to Sickboards (Netherlands), Thane Store (MA, USA) and Muir Skate (CA, USA). More on that soon.

Quality is everything

We've been through the ringer on this one; the early-season release has slipped all the way back into June as a result of poor craftsmanship and lack of commitment from a supplier we had partnered with in the beginning of January. I've deliberately NOT included pictures of their work as I feel it is far too inadequate to ever put the Valkyrie name on. Enough was enough, and I ultimately had to remake our supply chain.

To date, every set of Voxter precision trucks on the road were made by yours truly with countless hours of design work, prototyping and machining. I take pride in the quality of the trucks I've made, and I fully expect any supplier who's going to take over production to exceed the quality I personally can deliver. As of the beginning of May we can safely say we found a partner that will be making the best precision trucks into the foreseeable future. Their craftsmanship is beautiful and we're running like hell to get this first order made. Thanks to your pre-orders and early commitment from shops we've already sold half of what we planned to make originally, so we're just going to keep these mills cranking out parts throughout the summer.

The goal is to have everything machined this week, at which point they'll be sent down the road to get anodized Gold & Gray. We'll do our best to keep the updates coming- just know that periods of silence are the result of our guys working hard and focusing on the task at hand. Get stoked!

We had to move a lot of things around recently, including where we finish the trucks. Here we have two samples showing off the final production colors: gold and gunmetal gray. Super stoked on how these came out!

Voxter is now expected to land in the end of May.

As many of you might already know, we had planned to have trucks on store shelves in March, however, we were hitting a seemingly endless amount of manufacturing delays... About three weeks ago I had had enough, and made the call to restructure our supply chain. I just got the latest samples in and they're some of the best machine work I've seen to date. This means the most of the "hard part" is done- we're ready to start churning out parts with these dialed in programs.

There will be a slight change to the gray anodized colorway as every finisher is a little different. I'll have pictures up ASAP. Existing pre-orders will have the ability to change their color selection up until your cards are charged.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that has expressed interest, spread the stoke and pre-ordered a set of trucks. Your support is essential to the successful launch of this product, and I'm sure you're going to love your trucks when they arrive.

Two years ago we set out to build a truck for skating everything: something that excels both in and out of a race environment. After several major revisions and tons of tweaks, we can finally say we reached our goal in making Voxter an exceptionally versatile and capable truck.
Check out our product video for Voxter below- it explains everything you need to know about what makes these trucks unique in form and function.

Pre-orders for Rogue and Bear Kodiaks are shipping

Thank you everyone who pre-ordered bases! We had a couple hiccups with the mill while getting these made, but nonetheless all bases were machined by 4pm on Sunday as planned. Bear Kodiak bases were the first to ship with Rogue plates following shortly after.

We opted to use Venom pivots in the Rogue bases, and we're just waiting on those new pivots to come in before sending out the remaining orders.

Philly boys out in central PA

10/15/2015

On Saturday six of us from the Philly area took a trip out towards Central PA to skate some 45-50mph favorites. Smooth asphalt, tons of turns, cool air and the changing leaves made this a perfect skate day.
Picture
Sean Reilley, Steve Fitzmaurice and I were on the latest Voxter prototypes, and we hit big straights, fast banks and deep turns without touching a thing on the trucks. They held their center beautifully while enabling the most controlled dives into any corner. We did something very right with Voxter, and I can't wait to share the fun these bring with the larger skate community.

Let's take things up a notch

I'm fully committed to the success of these bases. It's been a couple years in the making between design changes and adding compatibility with these amazing brands, but the final product is worth every bit of the effort that's gone in. The vision all along has been to take your Calibers, Paris, Aeras- you name it- and amplify the best characteristics of those hangers by pairing them with adjustable angles, tall bushings, and low & constant ride height for added ease-of-use. In my opinion, these bases transform your trucks and open a world of possibilities in terms of versatility and customization. But don't take my word for it- ask anyone who's ridden a set and I'm sure they'll tell you something very similar.

ACME DH

Made it out for a day to the 3rd annual ACME DH race in Port Jervis, NY. This is the event we launched the Valkyrie at the first year is was run, and I'm bummed I couldn't have been there for all of it. Tons of fun seeing familiar faces, many from Burke just the week before.

Shots like the one below are a real inspiration: all four of these guys are on Valkyrie products. Compared to just a two years ago when I was the only person with Valkyrie bases on his board, it's crazy to think we would have three products (Svipul, Hildr and the upcoming Voxter completes) represented here.

Burke Freeride '15

Block off your calendars for next year- this event was epic! Mike Girard (Emgee Events) threw together an world-class freeride down one of the gnarliest roads on the East Coast.
This weekend was very different than what you typically get at a race- no one was stressed about race heats or bummed about getting knocked out early. People who were rightfully terrified of the run could take it at their own pace in the back, while guys like Norm Plante and Scott Hurdleston f**kin mobbed (see raw runs on YouTube). I personally was stoked by the number of guys on Valkyrie adjustable bases and our upcoming Voxter completes; Burke is a serious test for your own skating ability as well as your gear, and our lineup stood up to the challenge.

Keep your eyes out for more media from this event- Mike's goal is to build this up even bigger next year because this is what the sport needs. In the meantime, peep these raw runs that Evan filmed/edited:

Voxter: our complete offering

8/21/2015

A few days ago we made public a project that's been under wraps for almost two years: Voxter completes. The vision was to create a longboard truck that was truly unique in the market, yet still use all the same components skaters have become used to. After several overhauls to the design and countless more improvements, the final result is spectacular.
Picture
Voxter is defined by its coplanar, offset bushing seats; the bushing seat layout provides an incredibly solid center without sacrificing a bit of lean. Axles are inline with the center of the boardside seat (hangers have zero rake), and only urethane from the two bushings and pivot contact the hanger.

The trucks are designed to use tall bushings, although a machined spacer and tall nut (pictured) will be provided in case you want to use your standard .6" bushings. We worked closely with Riptide to develop the pivots that ship standard with each truck. At launch we will have 45* and 30* bases available. Assuming no major setbacks, we expect to start setting up for production in the beginning of September.

We have a new website!

What do you think?? We think it was time for an upgrade, and are very excited by how much cleaner this site looks already.

One of the largest areas for development over the coming 6 months is our Knowledge Center. The vision is to have this section on our site become a resource for any skater that wants to learn more about their trucks; everything from bushing selection pointers to in depth discussions about rake will be presented. Our goal is to only convey information that can be 1) supported by a fundamental engineering principle or 2) supported by data we have gathered ourselves.
